# Ambient sound provenance

The ten MP3 files are copied unchanged from
[Mechvibes DX's ambient collection](https://github.com/hainguyents13/mechvibes-dx/tree/main/assets/sounds)
at commit [`fa3da3a`](https://github.com/hainguyents13/mechvibes-dx/commit/fa3da3a46985687696bc335714fc7679ea4fe07f).

Mechvibes DX is copyright © 2026 [Hải Nguyễn](https://github.com/hainguyents13)
and distributed under the [MIT License](LICENSE.mechvibes-dx). The source files
were not transcoded or otherwise modified.

Embedded metadata additionally identifies SoundJay.com Sound Effects on
`fire.mp3`, `rain.mp3`, `river.mp3`, and `stream.mp3`, and Charlie Atanasyan on
`thunderstorm.mp3` (title: "Thunderstorm & rain in countryside"). No creator
metadata is embedded in the other five source files.

The three WAV files are Klonk's original CC0 ambient sounds. `rain.wav` and
`wind.wav` were renamed to `synth-rain.wav` and `synth-wind.wav` to avoid
colliding with the new Mechvibes DX tracks; `surf.wav` keeps its stable name.
